Which file types are supported?

How is CSV turned into JSON?

The first row is used as the column names, and each following row becomes one object. Numbers and true or false values are typed automatically. Quoted cells with commas or line breaks are handled.

What happens to nested JSON when I export CSV?

Each object in the array becomes one row. Nested objects or arrays are written into the cell as JSON text, so no data is lost.

Can I paste text instead of uploading a file?

Yes. Paste into the input box and pick the input format yourself. When you upload a file the format is detected from its extension.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. Files are read with your browser and converted locally. Nothing is sent to a server.
