How to use the image resize

1. Drop one or more images into the box, or click it to pick files.
2. Choose a resize mode: Max width/height (keeps aspect ratio), Exact dimensions, or Scale %.
3. Enter the new size. Toggle Keep aspect ratio if using exact dimensions.
4. Optionally pick an output format. Click Download for each image.

When to resize images

Resizing images before uploading them to a website or sharing by email reduces file size and speeds up loading. Most screens are 1920 pixels wide or less, so larger images waste bandwidth. For thumbnails, social media icons or email signatures, smaller sizes like 400x400 or 800x600 work well.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Resizing happens entirely in your browser using the canvas API. The images never leave your device, which makes this tool safe for personal photos and confidential documents.

What does "Keep aspect ratio" mean?

When enabled, the tool scales the image proportionally, so it does not get stretched or squished. If you set a max width of 800 pixels, a 1600x1200 photo becomes 800x600. Turn it off to force exact dimensions, which may distort the image.

Can I resize by percentage?

Yes. Choose the Scale % mode and enter a value. 50% cuts width and height in half; 200% doubles them.

What formats are supported?

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and most other image formats that browsers can display. You can also change the output format, for example resize a PNG and save it as a smaller WebP file.

Is there a file size or image limit?

There is no fixed limit. Very large images (50+ megapixels) depend on your device memory. Most computers and phones handle typical photos without trouble.
